THE FAMILY BEHIND THE FARM
Daybreak Farms is a family company, owned and operated by Ian and Jeannie Christison — who’ve been egg producers in British Columbia for four decades. Ian is a second-generation egg farmer who bought his first farm in 1970. Jeannie became a partner in the business in 1974 when the two were married. In 1991 they bought the facilities on Eby Street in Terrace and started up Daybreak Farms. Ian and Jeannie have raised three children — Brianna, Geordie and Kieran — who have all helped in the operations at various times.
Peter Versteege joined the Daybreak Farms management team in 2010 and is the Operations Manager.
OUR FARMING PRACTICES
Daybreak Farms employs a quality control program at all their operations: the farm, the feed mill and the grading station.
Quality control starts at our feed mill with the production of our own feed. Our feed is all natural and we never use hormones or antibiotics of any kind.
All our laying hens have been vaccinated against Salmonella Enteritidis before coming onto our farm. Our trained staff monitor the hens and laying facilities on a daily basis. Our rigorous attention to detail ensures a consistent, high quality product.
Our on-site grading station is registered as meeting the requirements of the SQF Code, a globally recognized Food Safety and Quality Certification Program.
We are located in Terrace in northwest British Columbia, delivering directly to supermarkets and stores in BC’s northwestern communities. This minimizes the time between the production of our eggs and the delivery to your store. Daybreak eggs are truly as fresh as the North!
